Travel zones & common questions
Travel is based on the driving distance from our Atlanta base (ZIP 30349) to your venue. Each zone is a flat fee that already covers the full round trip — there and back — and it’s added as its own line in your estimate once you enter the event ZIP above.
How is travel calculated?
By your venue’s ZIP code. It tells us which zone your event is in, and each zone has one set flat fee — so there are no surprises and the price doesn’t change address to address within a zone.
Does the travel fee include the drive back?
Yes. Every zone fee covers the full round trip — driving out to your venue and back. You’re never billed each way.
My venue is more than an hour away — what happens?
Anything roughly 60 miles or more is a custom travel quote, since longer trips can involve tolls, extra drive time, or an overnight. Your professional engineer confirms that number with you on your final quote before anything is locked in.
Why a flat zone fee instead of exact mileage?
A set price per zone is simpler and more predictable for you than a figure that shifts by a few dollars for every address. The flat fee is built from round-trip mileage, so it already reflects the real drive.
Can travel ever be waived?
Local events inside our Zone 1 area carry no travel fee at all. For everywhere else, travel is a separate, clearly itemized line — never hidden inside the production price.
Is the estimate the final price?
It’s a close estimate to help you plan. Your final quote is confirmed by your professional engineer after reviewing the specifics of your event.
Zone fees are based on the 2026 IRS business mileage rate applied to round-trip distance, plus an allowance for hauling the production rig and load-in / load-out time. Distances are measured to the ZIP-code area, so a venue near a zone boundary may fall into the nearer zone.
